Diane Epstein has been creating fine art fresco photography and collages for over a decade. She recently moved back to the San Francisco Bay Area after living and working in Rome, Italy for twenty years. While abroad, she founded and directed an artist salon, which enabled her to draw inspiration from a rich, international creative community. Much of her fresco photography has been created in a large format and printed on museum-quality, fine art paper. More recently, she has been commissioned by designers, architects, art consultants and galleries to create works on aluminum, canvas and glass.
Diane’s subjects include ancient sites and richly encrusted walls to design a painterly, textured picture, developing an illusion of shape and depth on a two-dimensional surface. Her work with public and private spaces nurtures the curiosity and the pleasures of whimsical and soothing environments that are easy to navigate.
Diane has produced over seventy-five large-scale works for lobbies, public spaces and suites for five high-end international hotels. She has shown her work in solo exhibitions in Malaysia, Tuscany, Rome, New York, Boston, San Francisco and Washington, DC. She also has commissioned pieces for a hotel in Rome, a private estate in Sonoma, CA, and graduate school residences at Stanford University.
